Policy & Scope Details

Travel for in-person court attendance outside local circuits is billed at cost via standard rail fare or at 45p per mile for personal vehicle travel.

Fixed fees (£175.00) apply strictly to standard 1 - 2 page position statements or chronologies where the scope is clear and drafting is straightforward. Where a statement is evidence-heavy, highly complex, requires multiple revisions, or exceeds 2 pages, work is billed at the standard hourly rate of £90.00/hr.

If a position statement is both urgent (required within 48 hours of a court deadline) AND exceeds 2 pages or involves complex evidence, work is billed at the urgent casework rate of £135.00/hr to reflect priority time allocation.

Court issue fees, expert report fees, and third-party costs are not included in our rates and remain the direct responsibility of the self-represented litigant.

Before paid work or court attendance commences, all clients receive our formal Terms of Engagement. Work and court preparation begin only once terms are confirmed in writing and cleared payment has been made on account (or paid in full for fixed-fee services). This outlines the scope of lay support, fee structures, confidentiality (GDPR), and explicit non-advocacy / non-reserved legal activity disclaimers.
